- Mines 2 (recently completed)
The Mines2 Mall
The Mines2 development was inspired by the Akihabara Electronic Town in Tokyo and Ladies Street in Hong Kong.
Mines2 is an integrated commercial development with retail and office units. When fully occupied, it will have a net lettable area of almost 300,000 sq ft. Mines2 will feature more than 200 stores, kiosk and push-carts. The mall’s carpark has more than 700 parking bays.
The 6 floors of office blocks have full glass façade enable full panoramic and stunning views of 150 acres lake, golf course, lush greeneries and even KLCC in good weather.
The Ground Floor is known as the Digital Street. Here you will find the latest technology in information, IT products, telecommunication gadgets and services. It is the first and longest thematic digital street in southern Kuala Lumpur.
The First Floor known as the Queen Street will house salons and fashion retailers especially for ladies only.
To further enhance connectivity between new and old wing, there is a link bridge connecting existing The Mines Shopping Fair and Mines2.
There is also a proposed Bird Park to be integrated with Mines Wonderland.
Mines2 is located at the intersection of SILK and Besraya highways and is 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur via Smart, PLUS and MEX highways. Additionally Mines2 is within walking distance to KTM Serdang Station.
The mall is expected to cater to residents mainly from Puchong, Bukit Jalil, Seri Kembangan and Sri Petaling. Students from nearby universities and colleges are also expected to benefit from the mall.
I got caught up with a catchy headline by The Star Property which says “New mall to cater for Sri Petaling and Puchong folks”. Well, although I used to stay in Sri Petaling for 15 years, I hardly shop and dine at The Mines. Except for few occasions to catch up with friends from Seri Kembangan and Balakong. I prefer to head to Mid Valley or Sunway Pyramid
